Mitch and Tom are back with their adventures in the cosmos! This week they are asking the question: Where are the aliens?  Mitch outlines some of the most important theories to help answer this question in the form of the Drake Equation and the Fermi Paradox while Tom imparts theories explaining the absence of our extraterrestrial friends such as The Great Filter hypothesis. Planets and The Moon

Mitch focuses his attention closer to home and runs through the various theories of how the moon came to be and its effect on us here on Earth! Formula 1& Aerodynamics

Join Mitch and Tom this week as they explore the science behind Formula 1! With the new season underway Tom took this as an opportunity to shoehorn his interests onto Mitch so that they can try and explain one of the most fundamental concepts in racing: Aerodynamics. Mitch gives us a tour of the F1 world before the boys dive into the fundamental concepts and measurements of aerodynamics and air flow. Join Mitch and Tom this week as they crack open a cold one and talk about alcohol! In the UK we have a weird relationship with alcohol which the boys explore here today but how unhealthy is it compared to other substances and what is alcohol in the first place? Parasites

Join Mitch and Tom this week as they take a look at parasites! Some quick news about male contraceptives to start out the show before the boys quickly head into parasitic nuggets of knowledge. What are parasites then and are babies parasites to humans? Mitch explores The Last of US and how similar parasites function in ants while Tom goes through different parasitic strategies and how crabs are tricked into thinking they are pregnant. Some random tangents are abound this week as the boys get distracted by the latest Harry Potter controversy at the top of the show and other fantasy genres at the end of the show. In between though you will find out what an insect is, honorary insects have now been added to this grouping by our very own hosts, Tom explores the reproductive methods of insects while Mitch explains why insects are so important and what might happen if they disappear! Drugs II

Join Mitch and Tom this week as they return to the topic of drugs! The boys quickly recap what drugs really are and the various methods of administration before moving onto new content! What is the ethics of bringing dinosaurs back to life is the first tangent! Back on topic, recreational drugs! How are they different to medicinal drugs and what is the best way to help people who might be suffering from addiction? Tom breaks down how the brain works and how recreational drugs then deal with that and turns his attention to MDMA, a drug gaining massive use in the club scene as well as increasing use as a therapeutic drug. Mitch then describes how paracetamol works to bring down your fever and why you should be using ibuprofen in other circumstances!
